To participate in rural tourism is to assimilate many different geographic, archaeological, geologic, botanical, zoological, culinary, etc. features and customs increasing knowledge and appreciation of our culture.
Refugio de Santiago offers a diferent tourist opportunity at the Lunahuana valley.
ACTIVITIES- Rafting: It consists of making trips on a boat by the river with different degrees of difficulty for all ages.
- Hiking (Trekking): This practice consists in making lengthy walks with maps and guides through the rural landscape, motivated by scenic or cultural beauties. All the routes start at the shelter.
- Mountain climbing: Ascending to the summit of a hill, where it is more important the preparation and the endurance of the person than the equipment to use.
- Excursion: Is a trip ,either by a long walk, or by using bicycles, a microbus, canoes, fourwheel drive trucks, horses, etc. During the trip excursionists will be camping, which gives an idea that this activity could take several days.
- Mountain cycling: Excursions on bicycles by different cultural routes. When the excursions are made by plain landscapes is called cycle tourism.
- Horse riding: This activity consists of making an excursion by horses or mules.
